Wireless Networks and Point To Point Links

At times a wired solution may not be an option and Rhino Network Solutions can offer a wireless solution.
We can supply, install and support a full range of wireless link technologies, which can provide a flexible and cost effective solution to your IP transit requirements. Whether for carrying voice, data, video or any combination of media, we can link your premises to a remote site or Data Centre by means of a wireless network link.
At a fraction of the cost of fibre and with multi Gigabit speeds available, wireless is a cost effective and highly flexible solution. By using Licensed, License Exempt and Free Space (Optical) Technologies from manufacturers like Siemens, Lancom, Ubiquiti Networks, Motorola, NEC Radios and Siae, we can design install and maintain the perfect solution for your environment.
Applications Include:
  • Broadband Delivery
  • Campus Wide Networks
  • Connect Remote Sites
  • CCTV and Alarm Monitoring
  • Warehousing Stock Control Systems
  • VoIP Networks
  • Temporary Sites / Construction Sites
  • Wireless point to point links
Point to Point Links
  • Link networks at remote sites to your main backbone network. Wireless Links can be from 100metres up to 50km depending on your requirements.
  • No need to dig up roads or obtain leased lines from the Telco.
  • Own and install your own network infrastructure.
  • With speeds up to multi Gbps available, wireless links can be as flexible as you need them to be.
  • Wireless Links can be in the Licensed Frequency bands, meaning that the spectrum which your wireless link is using, can only be used by you and is therefore protected from interference. Comreg are responsible for maintaining and regulating the use of the Radio Spectrum in Ireland.
  • Links can also use License Exempt frequencies in bands such as 2.4GHz and 5GHz. Equipment in these bands is generally off the shelf, quick to install and costs less than equipment in the Licensed Spectrum. Speeds of up to 300Mbps can be achieved in these bands over short hops.
  • Free Space (or Optical) Links can also be used. These links do not require a license but only operate over short distances up to about 2km. They use lasers to modulate the signal. They can achieve very high speeds up to 1Gbps.
  • To set-up your wireless link, the first step usually involves a site survey where we will take a look at the locations involved, take GPS Readings, Spectrum analysis, photographs and investigate the terrain between the two sites. Sometimes multiple links are required as direct Line of Sight is not available.
